You will learn a lot of information that is extremely valuable for your other classes at Trinity. However, because there is a lot of information, there is also a lot of work and this work is explained perfectly in class. Therefore, I would advise you NOT to miss class. Unfortunately for me, I am an athlete and could not avoid missing class. The second thing I would tell you to do is to do your work as soon as possible after class. My reasoning for you doing your work asap after class is because there is always little instructions that you forget how to do when you sit down to complete your work. You will spend many night frustrated at a computer, wanting to throw it through a wall if you wait to complete your homework. Trust me! I would know. I have always hated working with computers and I spent many nights before classes expressing my dislike for these machines. Thankfully, I was able to improve my skills with computers and actually spend more time completing my work than yelling at the screen. Finally, if your in Professor Belisle's class and you need help talk to her! She has been the most helpful, caring, and understanding Professor that I have encountered. Again, I am an athlete and missed class from time to time, but I tried to show her that I was trying to stay up to date with my work and she went out of her way to help me countless times. I'm sure if you show her that your interested she will do the same for you.

Favorite Websites

My favorite websites were created by Brittany Flores, Elizbeth Hatch, and Andrew Gill. I really enjoyed Brittany's website because it had an extremely personal touch to it. I liked how she displayed her favorite music and her poetry. Elizabeth Hatch's website was priceless because of the simplicity her website displayed. It masterfully presented her personality with little depth. Andrew Gill's website was the complete opposite of Elizabeth Hatch's!!! He showed his personality in great depth through the Trinity Buildings. I never knew a building could show such emotion. Html code is the building blocks for internet web designers. Programs do exist that make life easier and allow for a faster more efficient creation of a website. However, these programs can stop working at any point in time and if a web designer did not understand how to use html code, he/she would not be able to create their web site. The reason I found these articles humorous is because when I was in high school my teachers did not present their power points in this fashion. They would normally have terrible color schemes, a ton of words on each slide, and they would never add any new ideas to their lecture. I would strongly suggest to my fellow class mates to keep their power points simple. I would be well prepared with the information that I wanted to discuss and use the slides as a reminder of what I was talking about. My five guidelines for a power point would be: keep it simple, use at least 28 size font, use a legible color scheme, limit the words on each slide, and avoid using clip art. The idea that I found annoying about a really bad power point was when the author talked about the presenter handing out the slides after the presentation. I have had a lot of teachers read their slides and then hand them to me as I left the class. I always wondered why I was forced to attend the class when I could simply receive a copy of their slides.

Chris Nolan Presentation

During this presentation I learned how to use google more efficiently. The act was proposed in 1998 and the act extended the term of a copyright for twenty years. The reason the bill was passed was to insure that Disney was able to keep the rights of Mickey Mouse and other cartoon characters. The problem with this act is the fact that a new bill is going to have to be passed in 2018. I believe that Disney should be able to hold the rights of their cartoon characters. However, instead of merely extending the term the act should have been specialized. They should have extended the copyright term for certain companies or given these companies the copyright for an infinite amount of time. Since the act was not specialized certain works of literature that should be in the public domain are not. This causes problem for any one who wants to use these works of literature, but are still unable to because this act extended the term for all copyrights.

Excel

I am extremely excited that I learned about the microsoft excel program. Simpson

I chose the picture of O.J. Simpson. I chose this picture because I remember the trial quite well. My father is a criminal defense attorney and he specifically said that O.J. was guilty as sin. It was a complete and total shock when O.J. was not accused of murder. The photo originated on the front cover of Time Magazine in June of 1994. Compared to the original photo, the manipulated photo made O.J.’s face darker and the background greyer. The photo was purposively manipulated to make O.J. a more menacing figure. I believe that the manipulation of the photo could have been harmful. This photo could have made O.J. a more feared person in the eyes of the public. This could have seriously damaged O.J.’s image. The judicial system in the United States of America is based on the fact that you are innocent until proven guilty. However, the manipulation of this photograph makes O.J. seem guilty before the trial even started.

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://dominickrobusto.blogspot.com/2008/02/picture-of-oj-simpson.html' title='Picture of O.J. Whenever I am on campus I am in a computer lab or in the library. When I am off campus, I use my own computer that is connected to Time Warner Cable internet connection. If I were to use Trinity's Wireless Network, I would probably use it productively. I would bring my computer to a friend's room to complete homework or find a nice place outside to work. I do not have a facebook or a myspace account so I find it hard to imagine myself using the network for a social distraction. Here is some additional reading about wireless campuses http://www.usatoday.com/tech/news/2006-10-02-gennext-tech_x.htm

Microsoft Word

I have a lot of experience with microsoft word. I'm a first year from Laguna Beach, California. Here is where i like to go: http://maps.google.com/maps?ll=33.540568,-117.77393&z=16&t=h&hl=en. I love to play baseball and I play for Trinity University. I also snowboard, body board, and I like going to the beach. I believe I'm going to be a business major, however, I was almost drafted out of highschool for baseball. Hence, I hope my baseball career progresses to the next level. My one other hobby is writing. I really enjoy writing, however, I hate the rules and regulations of grammar. I truly believe that free writings are deeper and intirely more intellectual than regulated five page papers. I have a dog, he is a yellow lab and his name is Shadow. My computer background is small. I took a class in highschool that taught me how to use photoshop. However, I definately forgot most of the concepts that I learned in that class. The only program that I have used consistently is microsoft word. Eventhough, I have used microsoft word my entire life, I still become frustrated with the program. I am definately the person that breaks the computer. For example, the first two days of class I was unable to log in to the computer. That is kind of an important aspect of the computer class. My email address is drobusto@trinity.edu.
